About us

Haraldsplass Diakonale Sykehus AS is an ideal non-profit hospital that offers specialized health services in internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, anesthesiology, radiology and monitoring with associated outpatient activity.

The hospital is responsible for general hospital services in internal medicine for 141,000 residents in Bergen and Nordhordland county, and have a regional function in geriatrics and palliative care (Sunniva Center). We also have a large surgical clinic that has excelled in several areas, including shoulder, knee and colon surgeries. 

The hospital is an important part of the public health offering through an agreement with Helse Vest RHF, and has a good cooperation with Helse Bergen within our business areas.

The Norwegian information service “Fritt sykehusvalg Norge» (Free Hospital Choice Norway) supports the government’s goal of facilitating patient’s rights to choose where to receive medical treatment. This includes Haraldsplass Diakonale Sykehus as one of the hospital choices.
